Atelier Concorde is a not-for-profit cultural organization founded in January 2010 by a group of artists. Other artists joined the group soon afterward, gathered together by the desire to share a collective space with a mutually supportive atmosphere, where interdisciplinary practices would be welcome. It aims to be a thought generator platform ascending from the studio.
This artist-run space comprises 19 artists in a total of 700 sqm distributed on 3 floors. Its characteristics reflect the flexibility and dynamic this organization harbors. The project room presents not only exhibitions but also concerts, performances, lectures, screenings and workshops and in addition it is used as a residency space.
Atelier Concorde´s main goal is to further the development of artistic creation. Its priorities are: supporting art production, once an “atelier” is the place where art is conceived; promoting dissemination of artistic projects and broadening the visibility of its artists. Therefore, Atelier Concorde not only assures good working conditions but also seeks to increase the integration of its artists, namely via partnering with other similar organizations.
